Power cables are used to transmit and distribute large functional electrical energy in the main line of the power system. Control cables directly transmit electrical energy from the distribution points of the power system to the power connection lines of various electrical equipment. In terms of the number of cable cores, according to the requirements of the power grid, power cables are generally 5 cores, while control cables are used for transmitting control signals, with a large number of cores. According to the standard, it is 61 cores, but it can also be produced according to user requirements.
Classification of power cables: 1. Coaxial cables. Coaxial cable is a transmission medium that many friends are familiar with. It is a type of cable with multiple layers of insulated wires wrapped around the middle copper conductor. Its characteristics are good anti-interference ability, stable data transmission, and low price. 2. Twisted pair cable is a flexible communication cable that contains multiple pairs of insulated copper wires. Its characteristic is its low price, so it is widely used, such as the commonly used telephone line. 3. Fiber optic cables. Compared to copper media, optical cables are the new generation of transmission media. Fiber optics have greatly improved in reliability, security, and network performance.
Power cables are divided into high-voltage cables and low-voltage cables. If it is high voltage, there will be a layer of resin like filling inside, which serves as insulation. In high-voltage cables, this layer is an important part of insulation. Low voltage power cables do not have this layer, and there are some ribbon wrapped things inside, which fix the various core wires of the cable and fill the gaps in the middle.
The function of the power cable shielding layer is as follows: 1. Because the current passing through the power cable is relatively high, a magnetic field will be generated around the current. In order not to affect other components, the shielding layer can shield the electromagnetic field in the cable. 2. It can play a certain role in grounding protection. If the cable core is damaged, the leakage current can flow along the shielding layer like a grounding grid, providing safety protection.
Power cable application: 1. Power system. The wire and cable products used in the power system mainly include overhead bare wires, busbars, power cables (plastic cables, oil-paper power cables, rubber sheathed cables, overhead insulated cables), branch cables, electromagnetic wires, electrical equipment wires and cables, and cables for power equipment. 2. Information transmission system. The wires and cables used in information transmission systems mainly include data cables, electronic cables, radio frequency cables, television cables, electromagnetic cables, optical cables, power communication or other composite cables, etc. 3. Instrument system, mechanical equipment. Except for overhead bare wires, almost all products have applications, but mainly data cables, electromagnetic wires, power cables, instrument cables, etc.
